How long should it take for my receipt to arrive/transaction to show on dashboard?

While cryptocurrency donations are fast, they are not instant. Transactions are required to be verified on the network they are sent with a number of confirmations that will vary depending on the asset being donated to charity. Time taken will depend on a number of things, including network traffic. Generally speaking it will require a minimum number of confirmations in order to trigger a receipt to be sent or for the transaction to show on your The Giving Block dashboard. Sometimes (in the case of a network outage) there may be a delay to a receipt being sent or the transaction showing on your dashboard. In these situations, the transaction will show, or the receipt will be sent after that issue is resolved. Please consult with the following chart for the minimum number of transactions, approx. time or block explorers to view the transaction. Remember to add your email address if you wish to get a receipt and ensure that it is correct before doing the transaction. We cannot currently alter an email address if it is entered incorrectly after the donation has been made. Receipts will come from receipts@thegivingblock.com - please double check spam or junk mail if first if it does not arrive. If you need support, please contact us with the following information:

  • Cryptocurrency Asset you are sending

  • Blockchain you are transacting on (some, such as FTM or MATIC are on multiple networks, please only send the supported version)

  • Amount of asset you are sending

  • Charity you are donating to

  • Transaction ID (as opposed to the wallet address) of the transaction.

Remember to only send supported cryptocurrencies to the address shown on the widget. Do not attempt to send other ERC-20's, ERC-721s or other tokens to an ETH address. For assets that exist on more than one blockchain, make sure you send the correct one. Sending unsupported assets will result in the donation being lost and may not be recoverable.
